Now Open: Round 2 of Investment Readiness Program Funding!

Winnipeg Foundation and the Canadian CED Network - Manitoba, along with a supporting consortium of advisory stakeholders, are partnering with Community Foundations of Canada to deliver non-repayable capital to local social purpose organizations aiming to grow their impact through investment.

Interested? 

  • Applications for the second (and final) round of funds is open from September 8 – October 9, 2020. 

  • Social Purpose Organizations can apply for between $10,000 – $100,000. This is open across Canada.

Social Finance Fund and IRP:

The Government of Canada has announced a $755-million Social Finance Fund to support innovative solutions to social challenges. Community Foundations of Canada is a partner in the Investment Readiness Program (IRP) which helps allocate funds from the Government of Canada to social purpose organizations preparing to successfully participate in the social finance market.

In Manitoba, Winnipeg Foundation & Endow Manitoba is the lead partner with Community Foundations of Canada for the Manitoba Investment Readiness Fund. They’ve contracted CCEDNet Manitoba to support intake and delivery of funds. Together, they’ve engaged a wide set of relevant stakeholders to help advise on the design & promotion of this initiative, and selection of local applicants, ensuring it is relevant for Manitoba and able to reach communities across the province.

This program will support more innovative, sustainable and inclusive approaches to pressing challenges in communities across Canada. The #IRProgram provides social enterprises leading edge preparedness for the upcoming Social Finance Fund. There are also a variety of of other IRP partners doing different things across Canada to support the development of a strong social innovation and social finance ecosystem. Eligibility

  • Eligible organizations can receive $10,000 to $100,000 in non-repayable funds to develop, design, measure and scale their social enterprises in order to get ready to accept investments.

  • The IRP can assist organizations at any stage, from refining an idea to scaling up and preparing for investments.

  • The IRP is open to social purpose organizations including charities, non-profits, co-operatives and for-profits with a social impact.

  • The Manitoba consortium notes that all local groups are welcome, but especially invites organizations from rural and Northern communities to consider applying. Don't hesitate to reach out if you're curious about whether your project is a good fit!
